Purging Agents
Purging compounds are chemicals used by plastic manufacturers to clean their equipment, reduce the build-up of damaging residues on machinery and allow for color/process changes. EPI's purge compounds,
EPIpurge, are also cleaning agents for thermoplastic processing equipment that remove degraded residues and deposits in processing equipment without any harmful
effect to people or equipment. In addition to its use as a cleaning agent,
EPIpurge™ is also a stabilization additive used by certain plastic processors. The use of
EPIpurge™ as a stabilization agent eliminates die build-up, decreases product defects and minimizes machine down-time and expense.
EPIpurge™ reduces non-productive use of materials, labor, and machine down-time by up to 75%.
Unlike other purging compounds that function by mechanically pushing and scouring residue out of machines after each processing run,
EPIpurge™ provides a chemical penetrating mechanism that removes degraded residue and deposits, replacing direct human and mechanical media.
EPIpurge™ is formulated entirely out of FDA approved food and food contact additives, contains no hazardous ingredients or abrasives and will not decompose and carbonize.
