Joseph G. Gho (Chairman of ISAB)
Mr. Gho founded EPI in 1991 and since that time has served as its Chair, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors. Not only has Mr. Gho been EPI’s primary business leader, he has also been instrumental in the development of EPI technology. He holds patents for TDPA®, as well as the Machine and Method for laying film on the face of landfills, which is an approved cover for use in Subtitle “D” Landfills by the US EPA. EPI’s landfill covers have been continuously deployed for over 10 years at Puente Hills Landfill, California, North America’s largest landfill. In addition, the world’s largest (Veolia) and second largest (Sita) Waste Management companies are users of EPI’s environmental landfill covers. Mr. Gho’s patented biodegradable Agricultural Plastic (AGP) additives are used in films that cover numerous cash crops and are currently licensed to manufacturers in Asia, Europe and North America. Mr. Gho was able to garner the interest of Ciba Specialty Chemicals (now BASF), resulting in a multi-million dollar worldwide distribution contract for biodegradable additives for agricultural films over a five year period, which expired in December 2007, and then was further extended to Europe and Japan until June 30, 2010. Under Mr. Gho’s guidance, EPI has grown to be a world leader in oxo-biodegradable technology.
